A. Antroy Arreola's practice focuses on representing major energy companies in a broad range of disputes including litigation over royalty payment, mineral ownership, lease development, drilling operations, and production operations. Mr. Arreola has extensive first and second chair experience in every stage of litigation and arbitration, including emergency relief, summary judgment practice, mediation, jury and non-jury trial practice, and post-judgment practice.
Mr. Arreola also has a sophisticated eminent domain practice and has principal responsibility for multiple right of way acquisition projects. In addition to handling primary responsibility for management of these pipeline projects, Mr. Arreola is also responsible for the handling of hundreds of eminent domain matters, which include landowner negotiations, arguing special commissioners' hearings, pursing emergency and injunctive relief for survey access, securing post-hearing property possession, and the litigation resulting from objections to special commissioner awards.
Mr. Arreola can also create customizable, client-specific management systems that allow clients to keep abreast of the status of dozens or hundreds of tracts in dispute through on-line database applications and client-specific reports.
While an associate at his prior firm, Mr. Arreola functioned as in-house counsel for a major energy company, where his duties included managing outside counsel, budgeting litigation expenses, advising business units on litigation risk management and performing complex decision tree style analysis of risk-adjusted economic expectations.
